Czech cartoon series of the animated character of the small mole (Czech. „Krtek“) was a great success. Since 1957 to 2002, 50 short films and a few films exist. Children from all over the world, even India, China, Kazakhstan, Russia, Iraq or Japan will all understand Krtek since there a no dialogues, only short non-figurative exclamations produced by the two daughters of the Prague animator Zdeněk Miler.
He said that it took him a long time to realize it, but when he drew Krtek, he was drawing himself. Krtek reminds me of wonderful childhood memories of „The Show with the Mouse“ and „Little Sandman“.
